Latest Studio Updates
As of January 1, 2014, I’m in the process of transferring my extensive database of studio secrets & questions, the mastering FAQ database, previously unpublished stories and photos, outtakes, and anything else that seems important and/or relevant to the Playground Recording Studio here in Chicago with Keith Cleversley. This website will now serve as a scrapbook of bands and music and amazing times I had for the 10 years we made close to 100 records with some of the most amazing bands I’ve ever known and have been lucky enough to be involved with in some way.
For love of work, my focus is now on Wavefront Mastering; the super-sleek Mastering Facility I built in a small, but easily-accessible seaside town in California called Encinitas. I’ve developed a 100% online mastering system that allows anyone to get world-class mastering without ever having to leave home. Instant uploads, real-time comments, and even a live video feed are all part of the online workspace at Wavefront Mastering.
When I’m not working, I’m working on my Zen practice, and hope to post an online Course in Zen within the next year. I’m also flying as much as possible in the airplane that I built myself; a Glasair Sportsman 2+2. It took building an airplane to find true clarity, and since that experience in 2012, I have been working hard to integrate that clarity in absolutely everything I do; from the music I make, to the stories, I tell, to the Studio Secrets I reveal, as well as the flying that I will never be able to get enough of.
In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions related to any music I’ve been a part of, as well as any questions at all that you may have in relation to recording, music production, mastering, and anything else that has to do with sound waves.
